WILD SISTER JOSEPHA osu (Mary Barbara) entered Eternal Life on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Villa Angela in Chatham,Ontario. She was born in Odessa,Saskatchewan in 1909, the daughter of the late Konrad and Rosalie (Sitter) Wild. In 1924, she entered the Ursuline Sisters of Vibank,Saskatchewan. In 1953 the Ursulines of Vibank amalgamated with the Ursulines of the Chatham Union. During her religious life she taught in Vibank, Allan, Claybank,St. Joseph’s Colony,Odessa,Regina,Calgary and B.C. She was also a pastoral worker and assistant atSacredHeartChurch,Regina from 1974-86. With Anne Luke she helped to establish the Early Learning Centre in Regina. She came to Chatham in June 2003.
She is survived by one brother Louis (Pat) and sister-in-law Lucille Wild and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sisters, Theresa Melnyk, Sister Bernadette Wild, osu, Josephine, Barbara, Anne, Katherine and Ethel and brothers, Conrad, Joseph, Charles, John and Leo. Relatives and friends are invited to join theUrsuline Communityat a prayer service was held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela,20 Merici Way,Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela,Chatham. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Josepha may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities” or to the charity of your choice.
