THE RITE OF ELECTION OF CATECHUMENS will be a diocesan celebration in accord with the directive given in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (no. 108).

The celebration will be a Liturgy of the Word and the Rite of Election of Catechumens.  This celebration will NOT include a Liturgy of the Eucharist.

ENROLLMENT OF NAMES:  The Parish Book of the Elect should be brought to the celebration by a catechist or the person in charge of R.C.I.A.  During the Rite of Election, the catechumens will be invited to sign the book.

A RECEPTION  will follow the liturgy.  The R.C.I.A. group from each parish is invited to bring an item for the reception, such as a plate of fruit or some baking that can be shared.  During the reception there will be a limited time to take pictures of your group with the Bishop.  We ask that you DO NOT take pictures during the liturgy itself out of respect for the sacredness of the community’s liturgy.
