New Advent and Christmas DVDs in the Resource Centre

For Children

How Can I Celebrate Advent? uses a combination of live action puppets, illustrations and 3 D computer animation to explore Advent as a special season of waiting.

Advent with Saint Nicholas Customs from Around the World focuses on the meaning and background of customs such as the Advent calendar, Advent wreath, Christmas tree, Las Posadas and also offers ideas as to how other customs such as decorating the tree and sending cards can be practiced in a way that celebrates the Advent spirit of expectation and mystery.

Story Teller Café - The Gift is 3 D computer animated story gives a wonderful reminder to celebrate the life of Christ all year long, not just at Christmas.

Little Shepherd tells the story of Joel, a little shepherd who is afraid of the dangers that may lie ahead but who discovers that he need not face these dangers alone. An unexpected surprise leads to the evelation that God provides the answer for every fear.

For Families

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey tells the story of a reclusive wood carver with a secret past who meets a widowed mother and her young son when they commission the wood carver to create a replica of a nativity set given to the boy by his father.

The Nativity Story is a dramatic account of the Annunciation, and the arduous journey of Mary and Joseph to give birth to baby Jesus.

The Christmas Shoes is a movie inspired by the #1 hit song and the best selling that shows how small miracles happen everyday if one is willing to see them.

The Christmas Blessing, sequel to The Christmas Shoes, reminds us that life, love and family are gifts to be cherished.
