The Archdiocese earlier this year solicited from the parishes nominees for the awards which were then reviewed by a committee chaired by Sister Anastasia Young, SSS, Director of Pastoral Services. The names and a brief biography were sent to the Vatican for review then confirmed with Archbishop Bohan for the Papal Honour to be awarded. “In this our Centennial Year, we thought it an appropriate time to begin the practice of recognizing these individuals.” She emphasized that this will not be a one time event and in future years others may be nominated and special ceremonies held to honour them.
