June 13, 2009 13 people who completed the 3 year Lay Ministry Program were commissioned by Archbishop Daniel Bohan at a ceremony held at St. Michael's Retreat House. This was the first commissioning service held at St. Michael's since the Lay Ministry program was transferred from the John Paul II Centre which was closed last year. Archbishop Bohan in speaking to the group said "it is our job to reconcile the world to Christ." In presenting each person with a special medallion containing the Lay Ministry symbol the Archbishop said "Receive this medallion on completing the Lay Ministry Program.
